Mother and child
We were on our trek down from Annapurna Base Camp when we walked past two mothers, each carrying their children. We stopped to have a chat, or rather our guides did, while we were busy guessing the genders and the ages of each child. Over the course of the trip we had found ourselves always thinking that the girls are boys and the boys are girls. The long hair that some of the baby boys sported, and the dressing of the girls always confused us.

This particular child? He’s one years old.

Every photograph we take contains a story, but we often do not spend enough time sharing that story with others. Hence, Foto Friday was born to give some recognition to these forgotten photographs and the memories they hold. Taken over many trips (2004-present) using the author’s crappy cameras and whatever minimal photography skills she has, these photographs serve to give you a little insight into the author’s travels. And if you haven’t realised by now, they’ll be out on Fridays.
